Podiatry & Chiropody Treatments
Podiatry (also known as Chiropody) is a speicalised, registered and regulated health profession, concerned with the clinical diagnosis, treatment and management of a wide range of conditions affecting the human foot and lower limb. All things related to the way we walk.
If you are diabetic, have poor circulation or suffer from hip arthritis and you suffer from calluses, corns or thickened toenails; regular visits for general chiropody care are your best option. Not only will this keep your feet more comfortable on a daily basis, but also it's the best way to prevent minor foot problems from occurring.
Our feet help us balance and carry us a distance equivalent to 5 times around the Earth during a lifetime; in return, we rarely give them the attention they deserve. If you've ever experienced foot pain, you know the wisdom of the old adage “When your feet hurt, you hurt all over”. Since mobility is an important part of your overall quality of life, maintaining foot comfort is a must.
- Problems bending or inability to reach your feet?
- Insufficient hand strength to use nail cutters?
- Poor eye sight making cutting awkward?
- Thickened, hard-to-cut nails?
Whatever the reason, our nail care service may offer a low-cost solution to your problem.
- Corns and calluses are thickenings of skin on the feet that can become painful.
- Caused by excessive pressure or friction on the skin.
We can remove corns and hard skin and give advice on how to prevent or slow down reoccurrences.
- The thick skin on heels can be prone to dryness which, if untreated, can lead to cracks.
- A problem particularly in the summer, when we wear sandals and shoes which leave the heels exposed.
- Do you suffer from painful or unsightly dry skin or cracked heels?
We can remove the dry skin and re-hydrate it with a soothing massage using specialist creams.
A simple procedure is required to ease the pain and discomfort. Nail surgery is also available should the problem persist.

Biomechanics is the study of forces acting upon the structures of the body. Certain types of foot motion, poor alignment and muscular imbalances can lead to excessive movement which may result in pain in the lower limb, hip pain, ankle pain, heel pain, ball of foot pain, knee pain & lower back pain.
Biomechanical assessment may be used to diagnose the causes of pain and the appropriate treatment methods. The most common methods of treatment are the use of special insoles (orthotics), a stretching programme or advice to minimise the symptoms.
Marigold Therapy is a complimentary natural therapy used by specially trained Podiatrists in the treatment of a variety of conditions such as Verrucae, Heel pain and painful Corns.
