Sports Therapist - BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy
Emma Kirkwood
Emma qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy from Teesside University in 2014 and brings a wealth of hands-on experience to her role. Before joining Footsteps in 2016, she worked for several years in women’s football, developing a strong foundation in injury prevention and rehabilitation in high-performance settings.
Emma’s key areas of interest include biomechanics, tendon injuries (tendinopathies), injury rehabilitation, manual therapy, and the use of SIDAS moulded orthotics to support recovery and performance. She takes a practical, evidence-based approach to treatment and is passionate about helping people return to activity safely and confidently.
Outside of the clinic, Emma enjoys snowboarding, good food, and spending time with dogs — combining her love for adventure, relaxation, and animals.
